Press Release: HBA-UK announces the composition of the new Executive Committee
- PRESS RELEASE -London, 7 April 2020: The Hellenic Bankers Association UK (HBA-UK) announces the composition of the new Executive Committee following a reshuffle of members’ responsibilities and the institution of the following operational committees. Below the new Executive Committee composition effective as of today with a mandate for 2 years:
Louis Loizou - Chairman and Head of the Executive Committee
Viki Fotopoulou - Vice Chairman and Head of the External Relations Committee
Argyris Chatzilias - Head of Management Committee
Marinos Vathis - Head of Development & Charity Committee
Grigorios Hatzigrigoriadis - Head of Communications Committee
Michael Dimopoulos - Head of Events Committee
Xenofon Zacharoudis - Head of Membership & Finance Committee
The Executive Committee will be reporting directly to the Chairman’s Circle. In line with an expansion of its advisory capacity, the Chairman’s Circle will provide the Association’s strategic direction and governance. Mary Alexandrakis and Georgia Galouzidi, both outgoing members of the Executive Committee following an 8-year tenure, will act as Executive Coordinators for the Chairman’s Circle going forward.The Chairman’s Circle consists of all past Chairmen of the Association and current members are: Christos Megalou, Notis Mitarakis, Stratos Chatzigiannis, Antonis Ntatzopoulos, Yiannis Kyriakopoulos, George Matsakas, Michail Zekkos and Andreas Zobanakis.HBA-UK retains its solid commitment to the Association’s growth and strengthening Greek diaspora abroad. It is envisioned that the initiatives of the Association will evolve around a three-pillar strategy of (i) thought leadership, (ii) social responsibility and (iii) professional development.Committed to an ongoing development, adapting to the circumstances and passionate to connect professionals, HBA-UK is promoting online events through web platforms for educational purposes on the economic impact of COVID-19.Furthermore, faithful to our values, we have pledged to make a donation to the Archdiocese of Thyateira & Great Britain, who is tirelessly and fearlessly fighting against this pandemic.Under the thought leadership pillar, we will be enhancing the Association’s content generation and distribute a quarterly bulletin where everyone will be welcome to prepare articles related to the finance industry. In terms of social responsibility, we continue our Student Award for students who are studying in Greece and Cyprus. We offer a financial award and guidance to the winning student in terms of career mentoring.
